The Offshore Wind R&I Programme is run by EMEC and sponsored by the West of Orkney Windfarm. The programme aims to find novel solutions which will help deliver offshore wind faster, cheaper and at lower risk.
Innovation call 2 has opened for applications, with up to £300,000 available to projects. The innovation call is looking for solutions that address at least one of the following challenges:
- Weather forecasting solutions that will allow better weather-sensitive operational decisions to be made during surveys, construction and operations and maintenance.
- Service operation vessel (SOV) design for turbine access, increasing safety of personnel transfer operations while maximising opportunities for turbine access in exposed environments with persistent periods of high windspeeds and sea states.
The innovation call will close at 1pm, Wednesday 9 April 2025.
